Salivation

Salivation can be described as the production and excretion of excess salivatory fluid as mediated by both the sympathetic and peripheral nervous system. Salivation is a common side effect induced by a wide array of substances, but is most common with sedating substances and depressants. Salivation can also be triggered psychologically, such as through pleasant odors or pleasurable foods.
